Patient Promise

Patience-Centered Care

Your health is not something simply to be checked off the list. It’s important. It’s personal. And as a patient, you deserve the time and consideration to get all of your questions answered. By taking care of your vision, you are taking care of yourself. We are here to give you our full attention because when you are in our exam room, you are our only patient.

At Deutscher, Rottinghaus & Oxandale Optometry, we promise our patients our patience.

Why Do I need an Eye Exam?

Because there’s more to optometry than meets the eye.

Many health conditions including diabetes, high blood pressure, and cancer can create changes in the eye. These changes can often develop without pain or any significant vision disruption. That’s why a thorough, annual exam is critical.

Diagnostic Imaging

Drs. Deutscher, Rottinghaus, and Oxandale employ the latest imaging techniques to examine eye tissues for damage and disease. Advanced imaging allows earlier detection of eye changes related to macular degeneration, diabetes, glaucoma and other conditions.

Tonometry

This test helps to detect glaucoma by measuring eye pressure. It may be administered with a quick puff of air onto the eye, or a gentle application of a pressure-sensitive tip near or against the eye. Numbing drops may be applied to your eye for this test. Elevated pressure is a possible sign of glaucoma.

Peripheral Vision Assessment

Peripheral (side) vision is a vital component of your visual system that allows you to navigate safely through your environment. A peripheral vision assessment is done to examine for changes in your side vision. Reduced peripheral vision can indicate eye damage or diseases like glaucoma.

State of the Art Refraction

Drs. Deutscher, Rottinghaus, and Oxandale have invested in the most advanced digital refraction system available to help you achieve your sharpest vision.
